The winery

Desfachatados was born in 2018 by the winemakers Abel Chiconi and Federico Riveros, with the idea of ​​showing San Juan and its valleys from a modern and disruptive perspective. Their wines are characterized by small batches, careful elaboration and labels that reflect their innovative essence.
After initial tests in 2018 and 2019, the first commercial line arrived in 2020 with Desfachatados Valle de Pedernal, including an unwooded Malbec, a smooth Cabernet Sauvignon and a Gran Malbec Reserva aged 8 months in barrels.
In 2021, the exploration continued with new whites: a Sauvignon from the Tulum Valley and a Chardonnay from the Zonda Valley with light aging in barrels. That same year, Desfachatados Microvinificaciones was born, with limited editions of Malbec Reserva from Alto Valle de Zonda and Valle de Calingasta.
In 2022, new varieties from the Tulum Valley were added, such as Pinot Grigio, Criolla Chica and Torrontés Naranjo, in addition to a Pinot Noir from the Pedernal Valley and a Cabernet Franc from Calingasta in the Microvinificaciones line.
For 2023, the brand launched Desfachatados Valle de Calingasta, with a Malbec and a Cabernet Franc Reserva. In addition, it reissued its Chardonnay from the Tulum Valley fermented and aged in barrels, after the success of the 2021 version.

The wines

Desfachatados offers a selection of modern and bold wines that express the diversity of the San Juan valleys. Its first line, Desfachatados Valle de Pedernal, includes a young Malbec without oak, a smooth Cabernet Sauvignon and a Gran Malbec Reserva with 8 months in barrels. In whites, a fresh Sauvignon from the Tulum Valley and a Chardonnay from the Zonda Valley with light oak aging stand out. The Microvinificaciones line presents limited editions that vary each year, such as Malbecs Reserva from Zonda and Calingasta, a Pinot Noir from the Pedernal Valley and a Cabernet Franc from Calingasta. In 2022, a Pinot Grigio, a Criolla Chica and a Torrontés Naranjo were added, while in 2023 Desfachatados Valle de Calingasta was launched, with a Malbec and a Cabernet Franc Reserva, in addition to the return of the Chardonnay fermented and aged in barrels.
